This is a multi-institutional collaborative project between M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai, Vellore Institute of Technology and University of Hyderabad. Title of the project - Haplotype based validation of the role of a lectin gene (SalT) operational at the interface of abiotic (salinity) and biotic (blast disease) stress resistance through in-planta as well as ex-planta strategies.

Qualification
- Ph.D. in Agricultural Biotechnology/ Life sciences/ Plant Sciences and related fields, with minimum 60% aggregate during post-graduation.
Experience
Ability to work independently in a collaborative, multi-lab environment, with strong scientific writing and presentation capabilities. Demonstrated hands on experience in
- Basic molecular biology & cloning techniques
- Rice transformation & green-house based evaluation E. coli protein overexpression
At least one peer reviewed research publication relevant to the experience listed above in a Q1 journal, with significant impact factor
