Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative field.
Job Description
Publish findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals (IEEE, Springer, Elsevier) and top-tier AI/computer vision conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ICDAR).
Identify novel algorithms, processing pipelines, or hardware-software integrations developed during the project for processing of patent applications to protect core institutional IP.
Translate research models into functional software.
Design, develop, and deploy robust, user-friendly applications and pipelines for digital archiving, interactive transcription, and text searchability.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in collection & annotation of heritage documents (palm leaf documents) and implementation of Segmentation Free Character Recognition Technologies; Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Document Image Processing.
Development Skills: Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow). Experience with application deployment, API development (FastAPI/Flask), and front-end tools or version control (Git).
Track Record: A proven history of publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals or core computing conferences.
Desirable Qualifications
Prior experience handling historical manuscripts, degraded document analysis, or low-resource Indic/Asian scripts.
Understanding of the patent filing lifecycle and prior art searching.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for model hosting.
