We are looking for a motivated Commis 1 to assist in daily kitchen operations. The role involves supporting senior chefs in food preparation, maintaining hygiene, ensuring quality, and contributing to smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients, cooking, and plating dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Quality Control: Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation; maintain high food quality standards.
- Sanitation & Cleaning: Follow proper cleaning and hygiene procedures; maintain clean workstations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient stock, assist in requisitions, and properly store received items.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Conduct daily and weekly tasks such as temperature checks, food labeling, and proper storage.
- Kitchen Safety: Identify and report hazards or equipment defects to ensure a safe working environment.
- Customer Service: Support the kitchen in providing a high level of guest satisfaction through food quality and timely service.
- Training & Development: Participate in training courses as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with chefs, team members, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen (Kerala cuisine or South Indian cuisine preferred).
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
