About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Production to lead the end-to-end production and execution of the brand's saree and merchandise collections.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that every product moves seamlessly from concept and design to sampling, production and final delivery, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end production planning and execution for sarees and merchandise.
- Work closely with merchandising and design teams to convert concepts into production-ready products.
- Develop production plans based on merchandise requirements, launches and sales forecasts.
- Manage sampling, approvals, production schedules and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, artisans, suppliers and production partners.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to approved designs, specifications and quality standards.
- Manage production costing and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Monitor production capacity and allocate orders effectively across vendors.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor and manufacturing network.
- Implement strict quality-control processes at every stage of production.
- Monitor production timelines and proactively resolve delays or quality issues.
- Coordinate with merchandising and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of products.
- Maintain production MIS and provide regular updates to management.
- Ensure production processes remain scalable as the business grows.
Candidate Profile
- 6–10+ years of relevant production experience in sarees, ethnic wear, apparel, fashion or textiles.
- Strong knowledge of Indian textiles, fabrics, embroidery, weaving, dyeing and garment/product manufacturing.
- Proven experience managing multiple vendors and production units.
- Strong understanding of production planning, costing, quality control and timelines.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Experience working with premium fashion brands will be preferred.
