A Sheeting Detailer translates architectural blueprints and structural designs into precise, buildable manufacturing drawings for roof and wall cladding systems. They generate layout plans, material take-offs, and fabrication details for roof sheeting, flashings, gutters, and trims to ensure structural integrity, proper drainage, and accurate on-site installation.Key Responsibilities
- Drawing Production: Prepare accurate roof and wall sheeting layouts, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and detailed shop drawings for trims, flashings, ridge caps, and downpipes.
- Material Management: Generate comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) and material quantity take-offs for production and procurement.
- Design Coordination: Collaborate with design engineers and project teams to review structural and architectural drawings.
- Conflict Resolution: Identify design discrepancies or missing details and request necessary clarifications before production begins.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all sheeting drawings and reports comply with company standards, project specifications, and building codes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, specifically AutoCAD. Familiarity with Tekla Structures or similar BIM software is often preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of pre-engineered building (PEB) sheeting, cladding systems, and standard installation practices.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong capacity to interpret complex architectural and structural blueprints.
- Soft Skills: Excellent spatial reasoning, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills to coordinate with fabricators and field teams.
