- Responsibilities - To establish a maternal counselling outpatient service based on the best practices in the field available from RCOG/NICE etc.
a. To train self and co-workers in the latest guidelines of antenatal care and postpartum care.
b. To establish protocols and SOPs for the proposed counseling structure.
c. To co-ordinate the delivery of care for admitted and outpatients of Obgyn department.
d. ANC counselling of mothers to include – diet, common symptoms of pregnancy, care delivery pattern at SBISR, preparing for vaginal birth, how to maximize your chances of NVD, what is induction and CS etc.
- To oversee and ensure that each expectant mother receives the counselling services as envisaged.
- To take initiative towards improvement of curriculum, workshop & all other activities for promoting birthing program.
- To establish, support and train the team in building of various informational material.
- Impart education about childbirth to patients.
- Maintain records & reports related to all activities.
- Conduct Antenatal workshops.
- OPD physiotherapy consultations for Obgyn patients for
- Obstetric conditions like- Antenatal posture care, pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain, postpartum rehabilitation.
- Gynaecology conditions: pelvic floor physiotherapy for urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, vaginismus, pelvic organ prolapse, endometriosis related pain, menopausal pelvic health and senior care programme.
- To participate in research work, data collection, and participants counselling.
- To participate as and when required to support mother in lactation, breastfeeding and new-born care.
