Plant Head – Lithium Battery Pack Assembly Line Location: Near Chennai / Vellore, Tamil Nadu | Reports to: Founder / Director, Operations Own end-to-end operations of our LFP battery pack assembly plant — from line commissioning and SOP roll-out through production, quality, safety and BIS compliance. The Plant Head sets the shop-floor standard, builds and leads the team, and is accountable for output, yield, cost and a zero-incident safety record. Key Responsibilities ▪ Operations & Planning — Run daily plant operations, production planning, line balancing and throughput against output, yield and cost targets. ▪ Process & SOPs — Author, implement and enforce SOPs and work instructions across all stations — cell intake, OCV/IR screening, CCS/FPC, BMS integration, welding, enclosure and end-of-line testing. ▪ Safety — Own plant safety: Li-ion electrical and fire safety, ESD control, emergency response, statutory factory compliance and a strong safety culture on the floor. ▪ BIS & Compliance — Drive BIS certification and regulatory compliance (IS 16046, IS 17387 and applicable standards) and prepare the plant for audits. ▪ Quality — Establish incoming, in-process and EOL quality systems; lead root-cause analysis, traceability and continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen). ▪ People & Manpower — Hire, train, roster and lead operators, technicians and engineers across shifts; build skills, discipline and accountability. ▪ Maintenance & Supply — Plan preventive maintenance, manage line equipment uptime, and coordinate with suppliers for materials and spares. Required Qualifications & Skills ▪ Education — B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering. ▪ Experience — 12–18 years in manufacturing leadership, with 3+ years in a battery, EV or energy-storage assembly environment. ▪ Technical — Hands-on with Li-ion pack assembly, BMS integration, welding processes and EOL testing; strong grasp of SOPs, quality systems and factory safety. ▪ Compliance — Working knowledge of BIS certification and statutory factory/EHS compliance in India. ▪ Leadership — Proven shop-floor leadership — able to build, motivate and manage a multi-shift workforce and deliver under targets.
