We are looking for Senior Staff Nurse in the Labour Ward. They are responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal mothers. The role includes monitoring maternal and fetal wellbeing, assisting during normal and emergency deliveries, coordinating with obstetric and neonatal teams, supervising junior nursing staff, and ensuring safe and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor pregnant women during labour and delivery.
- Record and interpret vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, and labour progress.
- Assist obstetricians during normal vaginal deliveries, instrumental deliveries, and emergency procedures.
- Prepare labour room equipment, sterile instruments, and emergency medications.
- Provide immediate newborn care and assist in neonatal resuscitation when required.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain infection control and aseptic techniques in the labour ward.
- Identify complications and promptly report emergencies such as fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia, or obstructed labour.
- Educate mothers and families regarding labour, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
Nursing Administration:
- Supervise and guide junior nurses, students, and support staff.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient records, labour charts, medication administration, and nursing notes.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and emergency equipment.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Patient Care & Safety:
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to mothers and relatives.
- Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing protocols, and safety standards.
- Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and code situations.
Qualification Requirements:
- B.Sc Nursing or GNM Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS/NALS preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Labour Ward / Maternity Nursing.
- Experience handling high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies preferred.

Salary
As per hospital policy and experience.
Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
