We are seeking a driven, analytical, and detail-oriented Project Controls Analyst to join our dedicated Project Controls team. This role is integral to our project delivery success, where you will help drive financial integrity across our project portfolio. You will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and managing project financial data, structures, and reporting within our central project portfolio management platform, EcoSys.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in project cost concepts to master an enterprise-grade platform and support our global project teams in delivering critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data and Project Management in EcoSys: Create and maintain project records, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), and internal cost codes. Ensure Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) are accurately reflected in the system.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Facilitate budget modifications, track actual expenditures, monitor commitments, and perform periodic variance analyses to provide early warnings on potential overruns and inform corrective actions.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate standard cost reports and ad-hoc analyses for project managers and clients. Translate complex financial data into actionable insights for decision-making.
- Change Management: Monitor and record internal project change requests, mapping approved changes directly to active project budgets and contingency funds within EcoSys to ensure financial traceability.
- System and Configuration Support: Assist senior system administrators in EcoSys setup, testing, system upgrades, and minor configuration updates to enhance system functionality and user experience.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Foundational Cost Knowledge: A firm grasp of fundamental project cost control concepts (e.g., budgets, forecasts, actuals, commitments, WBS, and Earned Value Metrics).
- Software Familiarity: Prior hands-on exposure to EcoSys is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with other Project Portfolio Management (PPM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools (such as Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier, or SAP Cost Management) is beneficial.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, data analysis) are required.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong logical reasoning with the ability to identify anomalies, patterns, and trends in financial datasets.
- Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for data integrity, ensuring database naming conventions and budget configurations are precise and consistently applied.
- Proactive Communicator: Comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and financial analysts, to resolve issues and provide support.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in project controls, project cost analysis, or commercial project support, ideally within an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Commerce, Sciences, or a related field
