Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead the Assembly operations for electrical equipment used in railway applications. The role involves managing end-to-end assembly processes, ensuring quality compliance with railway standards, and achieving production targets efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee assembly operations for electrical panels, control systems, wiring harnesses, and railway equipment
- Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules to meet dispatch timelines
- Ensure adherence to railway quality standards and specifications
- Monitor assembly line efficiency, productivity, and takt time
- Coordinate with production planning (PPC), stores, quality, and design teams
- Manage material availability to avoid line stoppages
- Implement process improvements, lean manufacturing, and 5S practices
- Track and reduce rejections, rework, and defects
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability as per railway requirements
- Supervise and train assembly team members and line supervisors
- Maintain safety standards and compliance on the shop floor
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical assembly processes (panels, wiring, testing basics)
- Experience in production planning and assembly line management
- Understanding of quality systems and inspection processes
- Familiarity with railway standards (RDSO/IR requirements)
- Ability to analyze production data and improve efficiency
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- 8–12 years of experience in production/assembly in electrical manufacturing
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma tools
- Exposure to railway or heavy engineering projects
