Physical Education Teacher – Grades XI & XII (CBSE)
Job Purpose
To plan, deliver and assess the CBSE Physical Education curriculum for students of Grades XI and XII, while developing students' theoretical knowledge, practical competence, fitness, sportsmanship, leadership and understanding of health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Teaching
- Teach CBSE Physical Education (Subject Code 048) for Grades XI and XII as per the prescribed CBSE curriculum and annual academic plan.
- Prepare annual, monthly and weekly lesson plans covering both theoretical and practical components.
- Teach concepts related to sports management, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, training methods, fitness, yoga and sports-related career pathways as prescribed in the curriculum.
- Ensure lessons are engaging, application-oriented and aligned with CBSE learning outcomes.
2. Practical Training and Assessment
- Conduct practical classes and train students for prescribed practical examinations.
- Conduct fitness assessments, skill assessments and sports-specific practical evaluations.
- Guide students in the preparation of practical records, projects, files and other prescribed documentation.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and evidence required for internal and practical evaluation.
- Prepare students effectively for CBSE board examinations and practical examinations.
3. Examination and Academic Administration
- Set question papers, assignments, worksheets and periodic assessments as per school and CBSE requirements.
- Evaluate answer scripts, assignments and practical performance.
- Identify academically weak students and provide remedial support.
- Conduct revision classes and examination preparation sessions for Grade XII students.
- Maintain marks, attendance, assessment records and other academic documentation within stipulated timelines.
4. Student Development
- Develop students' understanding of lifelong fitness, health, nutrition, sportsmanship and safe participation in physical activity.
- Encourage leadership, teamwork, discipline and responsible behaviour through sports and physical education.
- Support students interested in pursuing higher education and careers in physical education, sports science, coaching, management and related fields.
5. Sports and School Activities
- Support the planning and conduct of school sports events, annual sports days, tournaments and fitness programmes.
- Identify and encourage students with sporting potential.
- Coordinate, where required, with sports coaches and other school staff for student participation in competitions and events.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure safe conduct of all practical classes and sporting activities.
- Conduct appropriate warm-up, cool-down and injury-prevention practices.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
- Report injuries, safety concerns and equipment requirements promptly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education / Physical Education and Sports / Sports Science or a relevant recognized qualification.
- B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed. or equivalent qualification preferred.
- B.Ed. may be preferred or required depending on the school’s recruitment and affiliation policies.
- Relevant experience in teaching senior secondary Physical Education is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE school.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing students for Grade XII board examinations and practical assessments is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of the CBSE Grade XI and XII Physical Education curriculum.
- Ability to teach both theoretical and practical components effectively.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Competence in conducting fitness and sports-specific assessments.
- Ability to maintain academic and practical assessment records.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic digital proficiency for presentations, worksheets, online records and assessment systems.
- Strong organisational and event-management abilities.

- Syllabus completion as per the academic calendar.

- Timely completion of lesson plans, assessments and reports.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
