Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Agile Project Manager and Scrum Master to lead cross-functional development teams in delivering high-quality software solutions. This role bridges traditional project management with servant-leadership, requiring deep expertise in Scrum methodologies and practical experience operating within scaled agile environments. You will ensure teams maintain agility while aligning with broader organizational goals, timelines, and architectural roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum & Team Leadership
Facilitate core agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Act as a servant-leader to the development team, actively identifying and removing blockers to ensure smooth sprint execution.
Coach teams on agile values and engineering practices, helping them self-organize and achieve predictable delivery velocities.
Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure the product backlog is refined, prioritized, and ready for development.
Scaled Agile & Cross-Team Coordination
Manage cross-squad dependencies and facilitate communication between multiple engineering teams working on shared platforms.
Apply scaled agile frameworks (such as SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus) to synchronize sprints, releases, and architectural runaways across the organization.
Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning or quarterly alignment sessions to map out inter-team deliverables.
Project Management & Delivery
Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation in collaboration with Technical Architects and engineering leads.
Track key project metrics (burn-down charts, velocity, lead/cycle time) and provide transparent reporting to stakeholders.
Manage risks, scope creep, and budget constraints without compromising agile principles.
Drive the release management process, ensuring alignment between development, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4+ years of dual experience as a Project Manager and dedicated Scrum Master in a software development environment.
Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II). Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI-ACP is highly desirable.
Scaled Agile: Proven awareness or certification in scaled frameworks (e.g., SAFe Agilist, Certified SAFe Scrum Master).
Tools: Proficiency in Agile lifecycle management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps) and collaborative whiteboarding platforms (Miro, FigJam).
Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business leaders and vice versa.
Preferred Technical Context
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for modern web applications, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps pipelines.
Experience managing projects involving multi-tenant SaaS platforms, complex database migrations, or AI-driven tooling integrations.
Understanding technical dependencies in environments utilizing microservices or scalable cloud architectures.
Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
