Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Strategy
- Lead the development of detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, budgets, and timelines, in collaboration with government stakeholders.
- Translate high-level workplans into actionable district and community-level activities with clear implementation guidance.
- Align project objectives with national maternal health policies, government health programs, and donor/funder requirements.
Implementation & Operational Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring activities adhere to established guidelines, protocols, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress against workplans, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports including burn rates and cost-to-complete estimates.
- Coordinate activities across multiple implementation sites and government health facilities, ensuring compliance with government procurement and administrative policies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Government Coordination
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with government health departments, development partners, and professional organizations.
- Liaise with district health authorities, community health centers, and frontline health workers to ensure effective implementation.
- Facilitate coordination meetings and workshops to drive consensus on project goals.
- Represent the project in public and professional forums, including meetings, conferences, and technical working groups.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Establish and track project performance indicators to measure outcomes and impact.
- Monitor data quality, oversee data collection activities, and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit timely progress reports, financial reports, and other deliverables to internal stakeholders and government funders.
- Escalate issues, risks, and implementation challenges to senior leadership in a timely manner.
Risk & Quality Management
- Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Anticipate implementation issues and problem-solve with the project team and partners.
- Ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards and client requirements.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead and supervise project coordinators, field staff, and consultants, ensuring effective team performance.
- Conduct performance monitoring and provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and multidisciplinary working environment.
Vendor & Resource Management
- Manage relationships with service providers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and SLA adherence.
- Assist in the development of agreements, contracts, and scopes of work with external partners.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure all project activities comply with government regulations, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
- Maintain organized project documentation for audit readiness.
- Support IRB and ethics approvals for research-related components as applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Master’s degree (MPH, MBA, MHA) is strongly preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.
- Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in project or program management, preferably in public health, maternal and child health, or government healthcare settings.
- Government Experience: Demonstrated experience working with or within government health systems, with a strong understanding of government planning, budgeting, and procurement mechanisms.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira), familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and supervise multi-disciplinary teams.

Work Environment & Reporting Structure
- Reports To: Senior Program Director
- Supervises: Program Coordinators, Field Staff, Consultants, and Project Support Staff.
- Setting: Government health research institute, public health department, or government-affiliated health program.
- Model: Hybrid work model available, with frequent travel to field sites and stakeholder meetings.
- Impact: Exposure to large-scale, multi-site public health initiatives with significant community impact.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
