Job Description – Linux Administrator (Security Compliance & Patching Operations)
Key Responsibilities
Security Compliance & Vulnerability Management
- Work closely with the Information Security team to review, analyze, and remediate VAPT findings and security vulnerabilities.
- Ensure timely closure of Linux OS-related observations identified through VAPT, audits, compliance assessments, and security scans.
- Implement security hardening recommendations in accordance with industry best practices and organizational security standards.
- Perform periodic compliance reviews and ensure Linux servers remain compliant with regulatory and security requirements.
- Coordinate with Application Owners and DBAs to remediate middleware, database, and application-level vulnerabilities identified during assessments.
Patch Management
- Lead Linux patch management activities across production, DR, UAT, and non-production environments.
- Prepare and maintain the Linux patching calendar and patch compliance tracker.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule patching activities and obtain required approvals.
- Review security advisories and assess the impact of patches on business applications.
- Validate patch deployment success and ensure compliance targets are achieved.
- Generate periodic patch compliance reports and management dashboards.
Satellite Server Management
- Administer and maintain Red Hat Satellite infrastructure.
- Manage content views, lifecycle environments, repositories, activation keys, and patch deployment processes.
- Ensure proper synchronization and maintenance of Satellite servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Satellite-related operational issues.
Change Management & ITSM
- Raise, manage, and track ITSM tickets related to patching, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure changes.
- Follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely closure of change requests, incidents, and service requests.
- Ensure all activities comply with organizational change management processes and documentation requirements.
Incident Management & Problem Resolution
- Prepare detailed rollback plans before patching or major infrastructure changes.
- Lead recovery activities in the event of patching failures or service disruptions.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents resulting from patching, configuration changes, or system failures.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with Application Teams, Database Teams, Security Teams, Network Teams, and Business Stakeholders during patching and remediation activities.
- Participate in CAB meetings and provide technical assessments for planned changes.
- Support audit and compliance requirements by providing required evidence and documentation.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), similar Linux distributions.
- Hands-on experience with Linux clustering technologies and high-availability solutions.
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite Server administration.
- Strong understanding of Linux security hardening and vulnerability management.
- Knowledge of VAPT remediation processes and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with patch management and automation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Knowledge of shell scripting an linux ansible for automation.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as Jira Service Management.
- Experience with change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Ansible, Red Hat Insights, or other automation tools.
- Knowledge of middleware platforms such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Nginx.
- Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Mongo databases.
- Understanding of CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SEBI, RBI, or similar compliance frameworks.

- Timely closure of VAPT and security observations.
- Compliance of Linux servers with organizational security standards.
- Successful execution of monthly and emergency patching activities.
- Accurate maintenance of patching and vulnerability trackers.
- High patch compliance percentage across Linux environments.
- Timely closure of ITSM tickets and change requests.
- Effective management of Red Hat Satellite infrastructure.
- Well-documented rollback plans, RCA reports, and operational procedures.
Experience & Qualification
- 5–10 years of experience in Linux Administration and Infrastructure Operations.
- Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, Red Hat Satellite, or equivalent are preferred.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
