Manufacturing and Quality Technical Hub Hyderabad
Lilly has made a strategic investment of more than $1B dollars to establish a Manufacturing and Quality technical hub in Hyderabad, India. This hub will oversee the significant investment in contract manufacturing and the technical services responsible for managing the scientific agenda for manufacturing and quality. The hub will be recruiting top talent in the areas of manufacturing operations, quality assurance, quality control, supply chain, technical services, and engineering to build a cutting-edge scientific organization supporting the exciting dry products external manufacturing portfolio of Lilly.
Job Description
Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:
The Dry-EM Joint Process Team (JPT) Leader is focused on relationship building internally and externally, leading the cross-functional team and project prioritization and management for assigned Contract Manufacturer (CM) relationships within Dry External Manufacturing (Dry-EM). The JPT Leader is accountable for the quality, supply, and technical agenda at one or more CMs producing solid dosage pharmaceutical products.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Lead cross-functional Joint Process Team (JPT) between Lilly and contract manufacturer (CM) to develop and implement strategically aligned Quality and Supply Plans as well as the Technical Agenda for the CM.
- Supervise resources across technical, engineering, and supply chain organizations; manage performance and development of staff.
- Successfully facilitate and champion quality, technical, and regulatory compliance to ensure continuous supply to the marketplace.
- Manage production, batch release, and shipment schedules to ensure appropriate resources to meet objectives.
- Resolve supply chain issues and provide internal notification to management or joint Lilly/CM Steering Team as necessary.
- Accountable for metrics aligned with Global Contract Manufacturing Standards (GCMS) to monitor CM performance.
- Serve as liaison to communicate status and issues to various management levels in operations, quality, marketing, and manufacturing networks.
- Author Manufacturing Responsibilities Document (MRD) defining each party's roles and responsibilities aligned with the contract and Quality Agreement.
- Make regular visits to CMs to increase awareness of operations and maintain strong working relationships.
- Facilitate Lilly/CM Steering Team meeting agendas and present/document decisions in Steering Team minutes.
- Meet regularly with customers (Lilly plant sites or affiliates) to ensure supply goals are met and improve customer service.
- Work with Tech Service/QA Representatives and Lean/Six Sigma on continuous improvement projects.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in scientific disciplines of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in pharmaceutical solid dosage manufacturing operations and/or technical services and/or engineering.
- Previous leadership and people management experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to build effective relationships, influence, and achieve results through people.
- Demonstrated experience aligning with, delivery of, or assuring cGMP compliance of a production operation.
- Proficiency in English communication (verbal and written).
Additional Preferences:
- Ability to represent Eli Lilly and Company in a positive, professional, and ethical manner to both internal and external contract manufacturers.
- Self-motivated with ability to react quickly to changing requirements and processes.
- Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint and knowledge of Lilly-based systems (e.g., Trackwise, SAP).
- Project management skills including the ability to lead teams to produce quality deliverables within established time frames.
- Experience with contracts and relationships with third party suppliers.
- Ability to establish technical, quality, and business networks.
Other Information:
- Travel will be required (30%).
- Candidates must have experience in solid dosage manufacturing.
- Interview panel will include Dry-EM Leadership team.
