Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations in the cable production unit, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety compliance, and operational efficiency are achieved. The role includes supervision of manpower, machines, and processes involved in manufacturing LT cables, instrumentation cables, control cables, and AV cables.
Key Responsibilities Production Management
- Supervise daily production activities on the shop floor.
- Ensure achievement of production targets as per production plan.
- Monitor machine utilization and production efficiency.
- Coordinate with planning and maintenance departments for smooth operations.
- Minimize production downtime and material wastage.
Process Supervision
- Handle cable manufacturing processes including:
- Wire Drawing
- Stranding
- Insulation
- Cabling
- Armouring
- Sheathing
- Drum Packing
- Ensure process parameters are maintained as per standards.
Quality Control
- Ensure products meet quality and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for in-process inspections.
- Reduce rejection and rework through process monitoring.
- Maintain production and quality records.
Team Handling
- Supervise operators, technicians, and helpers.
- Allocate manpower effectively across production lines.
- Train workers on SOPs, safety, and operational practices.
- Maintain discipline and productivity on the shop floor.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and PPE usage.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Follow company policies and manufacturing compliance standards.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of extrusion, stranding, armouring, and sheathing.
- Leadership and manpower handling skills.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge of quality standards and safety practices.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in cable manufacturing industry.
- Experience in LT cable / instrumentation cable production preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
