Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and student-focused Admission Counsellors who are passionate about helping students secure admissions into the right colleges and courses.
As an Admission Counsellor, you will interact with students and parents, understand their academic goals, explain admission procedures, recommend suitable colleges and courses, and guide them throughout the admission process.
This role combines education consulting, admissions guidance, and relationship management. It is ideal for candidates interested in education consulting and student admissions.
This is an admissions consulting role and not a psychology, therapy, or mental health counselling position.
Whether you're an experienced admission professional or a motivated fresher with firsthand experience of India's entrance examination system, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide students and parents regarding higher education opportunities across India.
- Understand students' academic background, entrance exam scores, career aspirations, and budget to recommend suitable colleges and courses.
- Explain admission procedures, counselling rounds, eligibility criteria, fee structures, scholarships, and documentation requirements.
- Handle enquiries generated through phone calls, WhatsApp, website, social media, walk-ins, and referrals.
- Conduct admission consultations through phone, video calls, and in-person meetings.
- Build trust with students and parents by providing honest, accurate, and ethical admission guidance.
- Maintain lead records and follow-up schedules in the CRM.
- Follow up consistently with prospective students until admission completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a smooth admission process.
- Achieve monthly admission, conversion, and revenue targets.
- Stay updated on entrance exams, counselling processes, admission notifications, and higher education trends.
Eligibility
Freshers
Freshers are welcome to apply if they have a good understanding of India's entrance examination and admission ecosystem.
Preference will be given to candidates who:
- Have appeared for competitive entrance examinations such as NEET, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, KCET, COMEDK, CAT, MAT, or similar exams.
- Have personally participated in the counselling and admission process after these examinations.
- Can confidently explain the admission journey based on their own experience.
- Are passionate about guiding students and building a career in education consulting.
Experienced Candidates
1+ year of experience in any of the following is preferred:
- Admission Consulting
- Student Admissions
- Education Consulting
- Education Sales
- Student Recruitment
- EdTech
- Higher Education Consulting
Experience in undergraduate or postgraduate admissions is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (Hindi and Kannada are an advantage).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for helping students make informed admission decisions.
- Good listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional phone etiquette and follow-up discipline.
- Ability to explain admission processes clearly and confidently.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Self-motivated with the ability to achieve monthly admission and conversion targets.
