Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. The role includes inspection, testing, documentation, and implementation of quality control procedures to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures at the project site.
- Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Conduct and coordinate material inspections and quality tests.
- Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, checklists, test reports, and quality records.
- Raise, monitor, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
- Verify incoming materials and maintain material approval records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during execution.
- Assist during client, consultant, and third-party inspections and audits.
- Identify quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience
- 2–6 years of experience in QA/QC for infrastructure, bridge, highway, or building construction projects.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction quality standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with concrete, steel, earthwork, and material testing procedures.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred).
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Knowledge
- IS Codes, MoRTH Specifications, IRC Standards, and project quality documentation.
- Experience with client and consultant inspections.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and construction best practices.
