We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Fashion Designer to support our design and product development team. The candidate will assist in developing new apparel designs, preparing design references and technical details, coordinating with the sampling and production teams, and ensuring designs are successfully converted into finished garments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing new apparel designs, collections, and product concepts.
- Conduct fashion trend, market, fabric, and competitor research.
- Create basic fashion sketches, mood boards, and design references.
- Prepare and maintain tech packs, measurement/specification sheets, and design details.
- Coordinate with the pattern master, cutting, sampling, and production teams for sample development.
- Participate in garment fittings and identify fit or construction issues.
- Suggest corrections and follow up on sample modifications.
- Assist in selecting suitable fabrics, trims, colors, prints, and embellishments.
- Ensure the final garment matches the approved design and specifications.
- Maintain proper records of samples, designs, swatches, and product development.
- Coordinate with merchandising and production teams to ensure timely execution.
- Stay updated with current fashion trends and commercially relevant styles.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, measurements, and fit.
- Basic understanding of the apparel manufacturing process.
- Good fashion sketching and visualization skills.
- Proficiency in CorelDRAW / Adobe Illustrator / Adobe Photoshop will be preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and basic documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and creativity.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Should be willing to work closely with production and sampling teams.
Qualification
- Diploma / Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Garment Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in apparel manufacturing, garment production, or fashion design.
Preferred Candidate
- Candidates with hands-on experience in apparel manufacturing and product development will be preferred.
- Candidates who understand the complete process from design → sampling → fitting → production will have an advantage.
The 1–2 year experience requirement and emphasis on garment construction, prototype/sample development, and apparel manufacturing are consistent with apparel-sector occupational standards and current junior fashion-design roles.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
