About the Position
Seeking a professional to support and drive growth strategies for Seed products by identifying new
opportunities, expanding the product portfolio, and executing product, marketing, and demand-
generation initiatives. The role involves product planning, new product launches, brand building,
channel development, and technical capability enhancement aligned with organizational goals.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Product Business Planning
- Drive product-wise target setting based on market segmentation, product fit, and
competition.
- Identify product gaps and recommend new product/variety introductions.
- Lead new product launches, including market assessment, branding, packaging, vendor
coordination, and launch execution.
- Develop strategies to achieve revenue and margin goals for the Seed business.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and cross-functional teams on product strategy,
requirements, and availability.
- Support product positioning across crops and regions.
- Monitor product movement, category contribution, and manage slow-moving inventory with
sales teams.
Demand Generation & Brand Building
- Plan, monitor, and execute demand-generation activities.
- Lead ATL, BTL, Digital Marketing, and Loyalty Program initiatives.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate contractual manpower.
- Act as Custodian and Master Trainer for Seed product and technical knowledge.
- Maintain competitive intelligence and provide product lifecycle and positioning insights to
sales teams.
- Manage marketing communication plans and budgets for product launches and promotional
campaigns.
- Drive adoption of digital initiatives for field monitoring and learning.
Channel Strategy
• Monitor market width and depth.• Strengthen dealer networks through timely appointments of new dealers.
- Build strong retailer relationships and engagement programs.
- Plan retail visibility, in-shop branding, outdoor promotions, and on-ground activations.
- Explore multiple sales channels and implement schemes for consumers and channel
partners.
- Conduct pre- and post-campaign analysis to assess effectiveness and improvement
opportunities.
- Coordinate with sales teams to ensure quality service delivery to retail partners.
Technical Capability Building
- Conduct training programs for sales teams on new and existing seed products, crop-wise
positioning, and product applications.
- Study and analyze customer requirements, market trends, and emerging opportunities.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of the Seed industry, including research and hybrid varieties.
- Sound technical, market, and geographical knowledge.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management.
- Experience in relationship management.
- Exposure to market research, competitive analysis, segmentation, and business planning.
