Job Summary
We are looking for a technically skilled and customer-oriented Field Service Engineer to support our ISP network operations. The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and restoration of broadband, FTTH/FTTx, fiber-optic, Wi-Fi, and networking services at customer and network locations.
The candidate will work closely with the NOC, Installation, Customer Care, and Network Operations teams to ensure timely service delivery, network availability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission FTTH/FTTx broadband connections, ONT/ONU, routers, Wi-Fi devices, and other CPE equipment.
- Perform fiber cable routing, termination, jointing, and basic fiber splicing activities.
- Troubleshoot broadband connectivity, low-speed, signal-loss, Wi-Fi, and network-related complaints.
- Check optical signal levels and identify fiber cuts, attenuation, connector issues, and last-mile faults.
- Perform testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, VFL, Fusion Splicer, and other fiber-testing equipment.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, ONT/ONU, Wi-Fi routers, switches, and basic networking equipment.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of the access/last-mile network.
- Attend customer complaints and service requests within the defined SLA/TAT.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility checks for new customer connections.
- Coordinate with the NOC/L2/L3 teams for issues requiring backend or advanced technical support.
- Support fault restoration for OFC, distribution boxes, FDPs, splitters, and other access-network infrastructure.
- Maintain proper records of installations, complaints, fault restoration, materials, and customer sign-offs.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of company tools, equipment, vehicles, and network materials.
- Explain basic equipment usage and troubleshooting procedures to customers.
- Follow company technical standards, safety procedures, and field-service guidelines.
- Be available for rotational shifts, emergency maintenance, weekends, or holidays when required.
Required Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of FTTH, FTTx, GPON, OFC, LAN/WAN, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
- Knowledge of ONT/ONU, OLT, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and CPE.
- Basic understanding of IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on knowledge of fiber splicing and testing is preferred.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot fiber cuts, optical power loss, and connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of OTDR and Optical Power Meter is an added advantage.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunication, Electrical, Computer Science, IT, or related disciplines.
- 0–3 years of experience in ISP, broadband, telecom, networking, or field service operations.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also be considered.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Two-Wheeler Driving Licence preferred/mandatory as per business requirement.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned service area.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently in outdoor/field conditions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and during emergency network restoration.

Candidate Profile: A hands-on technical professional who can independently attend customer locations, troubleshoot fiber/broadband issues, coordinate with the NOC, and ensure reliable ISP service delivery.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
