Job Title: SAP ABAP Consultant with MM & Supply Chain Expertise

Location: [Insert Location or Remote]

Experience Level: 12+ years (Senior)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with strong functional knowledge in SAP MM (Materials Management) and Supply Chain processes. This role requires a blend of technical development expertise and functional understanding to design, develop, and optimize SAP solutions that support procurement, inventory, and end-to-end supply chain operations.

Note- Should have worked on MM area.. on their implementation experience.

Key Responsibilities

ABAP Development

Design, develop, and maintain custom programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms using SAP ABAP.

Work on Object-Oriented ABAP, ALV reports, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Framework.

Develop and optimize RFCs, IDOCs, and Web Services for integration with external systems.

Implement performance tuning and code optimization for large datasets.

MM & Supply Chain Functional Support

Collaborate with functional teams to understand procurement, inventory management, and supply chain workflows.

Support MM configurations related to Purchase Orders, Goods Receipt, Invoice Verification, and Material Master.

Assist in integration scenarios between MM and other modules (SD, PP, WM).

Integration & Interfaces

Develop interfaces between SAP and third-party supply chain systems.

Work on EDI, IDOC processing, and data migration using LSMW or custom programs.

Testing & Documentation

Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT.

Prepare technical specifications, functional design documents, and user manuals.

Support & Maintenance

Provide production support for ABAP developments and MM processes.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to custom developments and MM transactions.

Required Technical Skills

SAP ABAP Core: Reports, Module Pool, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, Enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs.

Object-Oriented ABAP: Classes, Interfaces, Exception Handling.

Data Dictionary: Tables, Views, Search Helps, Lock Objects.

Integration: IDOCs, RFCs, ALE, Web Services.

Performance Optimization: SQL tuning, memory management, efficient loops.

MM Functional Knowledge: Procurement cycle, Inventory management, Material Master, Pricing, Release strategies.

Supply Chain Understanding: Demand planning, procurement, logistics execution basics.

Nice-to-Have Skills

SAP Fiori/UI5 basics for custom apps.

SAP S/4HANA experience (CDS Views, AMDP, OData services).

Knowledge of WM/EWM, SD, or PP for cross-functional integration.

Exposure to SAP Workflow and SAP Scripts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.

2+ years of functional exposure to MM and Supply Chain processes.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
