Job Description – Front Office Staff

Department: Front Office
Industry: Four Star Hotel
Reports To: Front Office Manager / Duty Manager

Job Summary

The Front Office Staff is responsible for providing professional and courteous guest service at the reception desk, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out procedures, handling guest enquiries, and maintaining high hospitality standards to enhance guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures.
Handle room reservations, cancellations, and amendments efficiently.
Provide information regarding hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
Attend guest enquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments for room readiness and guest requirements.
Maintain accurate guest records and billing details in the hotel management system.
Handle cash, card transactions, and prepare daily reports.
Answer telephone calls and respond to emails courteously.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Follow hotel policies, grooming standards, and operational procedures.
Assist in upselling hotel rooms and services whenever possible.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Hotel Management or related field preferred.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Front Office operations in a hotel.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Pleasant personality with professional grooming standards.
Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of English is mandatory; additional languages will be an advantage.
