SENIOR MANAGER – SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (B2B)

Designation: Sales & Business Development Manager

Company: Packrite Industries Private Limited

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

Reports To: Director

Experience: 5+ years in B2B / industrial sales, preferably in paper, packaging, printing or allied materials

Employment Type: Full-time

ABOUT THE ROLE

Packrite Industries is a manufacturer and supplier of specialty papers and finished printed products serving the food and beverage industry. We are looking for a senior sales professional to own the top line of the business — building and managing large institutional accounts, driving export and high seas sales, and converting long-term annual contracts with multinational and large domestic customers.

This is a front-line, ownership role. The person will carry revenue and margin responsibility, will be expected to travel to customers and be personally present in negotiations, and will work closely with the factory and finance teams to ensure that what is sold is delivered profitably and on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue & Account Ownership

- Own the annual sales plan for specialty paper and finished printed products — volume, revenue and contribution margin.

- Acquire, develop and retain key accounts in the food and beverage sector, including MNC customers, QSR chains, dairy, beverage, confectionery, bakery and FMCG converters.

- Negotiate and close large annual rate contracts and volume commitments, including price escalation and de-escalation clauses linked to raw material movement.

- Manage the full sales cycle: enquiry, sampling, technical validation, costing, quotation, negotiation, order, delivery follow-up and post-supply service.

Export, High Seas & International Business

- Develop and service export customers, including identification of markets, agents, distributors and direct buyers.

- Work with the finance team on export documentation, Letters of Credit, payment terms, credit insurance and realisation of receivables.

Market Development & Customer Relationship

- Map the market, competition and substitute products; maintain a live pipeline and report on it in a disciplined format.

- Travel regularly to customer plants, purchase offices and industry exhibitions; build relationships at purchase, quality, R&D and management levels.

- Bring back customer requirements for new products and work with the operations and product development team to commercialise them.

- Handle customer complaints and quality escalations professionally, coordinating with the factory for root cause and corrective action.

Reporting & Coordination

- Provide monthly and quarterly sales MIS, forecasts and order books to management to enable raw material planning and cash flow forecasting.

- Coordinate closely with the factory on order scheduling, delivery commitments and dispatch priorities.

- Mentor and drive junior sales and customer service staff as the team grows.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

- Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Marketing or a Diploma in Printing / Packaging Technology will be an advantage.

- 5+ years of proven B2B sales experience, with a demonstrable track record of winning and retaining large institutional accounts.

- Experience in paper, paperboard, flexible packaging, labels, printing or a closely allied industry.

- Strong written and verbal communication in English; ability to present to and negotiate with senior management of large customers.

- Willingness and ability to travel; valid passport required.

- Comfort with numbers — costing, margin working, discounting and credit terms — and with MS Excel and ERP-based reporting.

Preferred

- Existing relationships within the food and beverage supply chain in East India.

- Experienced with printing and packaging products.
