Business Development Executive

Location: NIBM, Pune
Work Mode: Work From Office
Industry: Digital Marketing / Creative Agency

About the Role

We are looking for an energetic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our digital marketing agency in NIBM, Pune.

The role involves identifying and acquiring new clients, understanding their business and marketing requirements, presenting relevant digital solutions, and converting prospects into long-term clients.

Our core services include Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Content & Creative Services, Performance Marketing, Branding, and Website Design & Development.

A significant portion of our clientele comes from the hospitality and lifestyle industry, including restaurants, cafés, hotels, resorts, nightlife, food & beverage, and other consumer-facing businesses. Experience in selling services to these industries will be a strong advantage.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Lead Generation

Identify and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, networking, references, events, and other relevant channels.
Research prospective businesses and identify potential clients who could benefit from our digital marketing and website services.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
Conduct regular outreach to decision-makers, business owners, marketing heads, founders, and other relevant stakeholders.
Follow up consistently with leads and move prospects through the sales funnel.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with prospects and clients.

Client Acquisition & Sales

Understand the prospect's business objectives, marketing challenges, target audience, and current digital presence.
Identify opportunities where our services can add measurable value.
Pitch and sell relevant services, including:
Social Media Management & Marketing
Content Strategy & Creation
Performance Marketing
Digital Marketing
Branding & Creative Services
Website Design & Development
Website Revamps and Maintenance
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, quotations, and pitches.
Coordinate with internal strategy, creative, performance marketing, and website teams to develop customised proposals.
Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
Handle objections and negotiate commercials effectively.
Close deals and achieve monthly and quarterly sales/revenue targets.
Ensure a smooth handover of newly acquired clients to the account management/operations team.

Website Business Development

Identify businesses with outdated, underperforming, or non-existent websites and generate opportunities for website design and development.
Understand basic website requirements such as business objectives, target audience, pages, functionality, integrations, design preferences, and timelines.
Coordinate with the website/design/development team to prepare appropriate solutions and proposals.
Present website concepts, scope of work, timelines, and commercials to potential clients.
Upsell website development and related digital services to existing marketing clients where relevant.

Client & Market Understanding

Keep up to date with digital marketing trends, social media platforms, website trends, SEO, performance marketing, content marketing, and emerging digital opportunities.
Monitor competitors and understand the digital marketing landscape.
Build knowledge of the hospitality, F&B, lifestyle, real estate, retail, and other relevant sectors.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional services to existing clients.

Relevant Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in B2B sales or business development within the following industries:

Website Design & Development Companies
SaaS / Technology companies with B2B sales
Media & Advertising Sales

Experience selling digital marketing, social media, branding, creative, SEO, performance marketing, website development, or other agency services will be strongly preferred.

Experience working with or selling to restaurants, cafés, hotels, resorts, hospitality groups, F&B brands, lifestyle businesses, or other consumer-facing businesses will be an added advantage.

What We’re Looking For

2–5 years of relevant experience in business development, B2B sales, agency sales, or client acquisition.
Proven ability to generate leads and close new business.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable speaking with business owners, founders, marketing heads, and senior decision-makers.
Strong understanding of digital marketing services and their business value.
Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into appropriate service solutions.
Experience with CRM systems, lead tracking, sales pipelines, and reporting is preferred.
Strong follow-up and relationship-management skills.
Target-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment.
Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously.
Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Willingness to work from office in NIBM, Pune.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who can find the right prospect, start the conversation, understand the business problem, recommend the right digital solution, present it convincingly, negotiate effectively, and close the deal.

You should be commercially driven but also understand that agency sales is about building trust and selling ideas and expertise, not simply selling a fixed product.

You should be comfortable having conversations around a client's social media presence, website, online visibility, customer acquisition, branding, and overall digital strategy.
