Full job description

Job Title: Accountant (Full-Time), Location: Kasba

Reporting To: Co-Founders, Employment Type: Full-Time, Work from Office, 12PM-9PM

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage the financial operations of our tutorial centre. The role involves handling daily accounting activities, ensuring statutory compliance, supporting management with financial insights, and maintaining accurate financial records to support smooth centre operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Finance:

Maintain day-to-day books of accounts, including cash, bank, fees, and expenses.
Record student fee collections, concessions, refunds, and outstanding dues.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage accounts payable and receivable.

Payroll & Compliance:

Process monthly payroll for teaching and non-teaching staff.
Manage statutory compliances including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and professional tax.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and banks.
Ensure timely filing of returns and adherence to financial regulations.

Budgeting & Reporting:

Assist in preparing annual budgets and track expenses against budgets.
Generate MIS reports for management (revenue, collections, expenses, profitability).
Provide insights on cost control and financial efficiency.

Administrative & Support Functions:

Handle petty cash and expense reimbursements.
Maintain financial documentation and records for audits.
Support management in financial planning for new batches, centres, or programs.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
CA-Inter / M.Com / equivalent qualification preferred.
3–5 years of accounting experience (education or service sector preferred).
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, or similar).
Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience working with fee-based institutions or coaching centres.
Strong Excel and reporting skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Proactive, organised, and process-driven mindset.
