About Biotastic Health Systems
Biotastic Health Systems is a premium wellness technology brand based in Chennai. We design, manufacture and install ice baths, infrared saunas and red light therapy panels for gyms, hotels, recovery studios, clinics and private residences across India.
Our equipment is already installed and running in gyms, hotels, recovery studios, clinics and homes across the country. Our own team has installed and serviced every unit we have sold. It now needs to become a national structure that can carry the next stage of growth, and that is the mandate for this role.
The Role
You will build Biotastic's pan-India installation and after-sales service network from the ground up.
Service today runs directly through our team, keeping us close to the product and close to the customer. Your job is to build a national structure around that foundation: design the service delivery model, decide what is handled in-house versus through appointed service partners, recruit and train the technician base city by city, and establish the SLA, PPM and AMC framework that will support the business for the next five years.
We are looking for someone who came up through the field. If you started as a service engineer or commissioning engineer, learned the equipment with your hands, and grew into managing service delivery, engineers, key accounts and multi-site operations, this role is built for you.
What You Will Own
- Service network build-out. Establish installation and after-sales coverage across six tier-1 cities first (Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, NCR, Hyderabad, Pune), then extend to tier-2 markets.
- Technician recruitment and training. Build the technical training curriculum for Biotastic equipment and certify every technician, in-house or partner, before they touch a customer site.
- Service partner and dealer management. Identify, appoint, contract, onboard and performance-manage third-party service partners in cities where an in-house team is not yet viable.
- Installation and commissioning. Own site readiness surveys, installation quality, commissioning checklists, testing and customer handover.
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance. Design the PPM calendar, breakdown response protocol, escalation matrix and closure workflow.
- AMC programme. Build the AMC product, pricing and renewal engine. Service is a revenue line at Biotastic, not a cost centre.
- SLA and KPI governance. Define and hold response time, resolution time, first-time-fix rate, uptime and CSAT targets. Report weekly.
- Root cause analysis and product feedback. Run RCA on repeat failures and close the loop with manufacturing and design so the same complaint does not return.
- Spare parts planning. Set up spare parts forecasting, stocking norms and regional inventory so a chiller fault is not a two-week wait.
- Key account management. Own the service relationship with our largest gym, hotel and clinic accounts. Conduct regular service reviews.
- Team building. Hire, structure and lead the service function as it scales from a handful of engineers to a national team.
Technical Scope
Biotastic equipment sits at the intersection of refrigeration, water systems, electrical and electronics. You will not know our products on day one. You will know the underlying systems.
Refrigeration and chiller systems (ice baths): water chiller units, refrigeration circuits, compressors, condensers, evaporators, refrigerant charging and leak detection, high-pressure and low-pressure faults, abnormal compressor current, temperature and pressure parameter monitoring.
Water systems: circulation pumps, micron and carbon filtration, ozone and UV sanitation, water quality monitoring and chemical treatment, plumbing, drainage, flow and pressure troubleshooting, leakage.
Electrical and controls: single and three phase power, load calculation, electrical panels, MCB, contactors, overloads, VFDs, digital controllers, sensors, PCB and control board faults, communication errors, wiring harnesses.
Heating and LED systems: infrared heating elements, LED drivers and power supplies, panel wiring, thermal safety cut-offs.
Experience with any of the following systems maps directly: chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), AHU and FCU, ductable, package and split AC, cooling towers, chilled water and condenser water pumps, RO and water treatment plants, swimming pool and spa equipment, commercial refrigeration, or comparable field-serviced capital equipment.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential
- 8 to 15 years in service delivery, technical operations or field service, with a clear progression from hands-on engineer to service management.
- Direct experience managing preventive maintenance, breakdown response, AMC execution and SLA compliance across multiple customer sites.
- Proven supervision of technicians and service engineers, including manpower planning, allocation and technical training.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability. You can still diagnose the fault yourself when the technician cannot.
- Experience coordinating with OEMs, vendors, dealers and procurement teams.
- Comfortable with service reports, MIS, CAFM or service management software, and Excel-based reporting.
- Willing to travel extensively across India, particularly through the first 18 months of the network build.
- Diploma or B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or Electronics.
What will make you stand out
- You have opened service operations in a new city or region, not just run an existing one.
- You have appointed and managed third-party service partners, franchisees or authorised service centres.
- You have written training content and actually trained technicians, not just supervised them.
- You have carried a service revenue or AMC renewal target.
- You have worked in a company small enough that you had to build the process, not follow it.
- You speak more than two Indian languages. Our technician base will be national.
What this role is not
This is not a facilities management role. If you are looking for a defined structure to slot into, this will frustrate you. If you have been waiting for a mandate to build a service organisation the way you have always thought it should be built, apply.
What Success Looks Like in 12 Months
- Trained and certified service coverage live in all six tier-1 cities.
- Documented installation, commissioning, PPM and breakdown SOPs for every product line.
- Median breakdown resolution time inside the committed SLA, measured and reported weekly.
- An AMC programme launched with a defined attach rate on new installations.
- A trained technician bench that can absorb the next year of installation volume without service quality dropping.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Chennai District): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Application Question(s):
- Describe a service network, installation team, or field operation you've built or managed.
