Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Magento Backend Developer to lead the development, customization, integration, maintenance, and optimization of Magento2x. e-commerce platforms.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Magento architecture, object-oriented PHP, custom modules/extensions, APIs, integrations, performance optimization, security, and enterprise web application development. The candidate willwork closely with cross-functional, UI/UX, product, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-qualitysolutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, customize, maintain, and optimize Magento 2.x e-commerce websites, multiple store views, webapplications, and responsive websites.
Handle both Magento frontend and backend development, including themes, interfaces, modules, extensions, andMagento features.
Build efficient, testable, reusable, and maintainable PHP modules using object-oriented programming principles andMagento APIs.
Customize and extend Magento functionality through custom module/extension development and third-party/APIintegrations.
Independently manage e-commerce modules, Magento interfaces (UI), APIs, data-storage solutions, and externalplatform integrations.
Manage Magento architecture, extensions, configurations, installed modules, and website features.
Perform Magento version upgrades, module upgrades, regular patches, and security updates while minimizingbusiness disruption.
Troubleshoot and debug Magento issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide timely production support andsystem maintenance.
Optimize website performance through caching, indexing, database optimization, and other Magento best practices.
Transfer and migrate Magento websites between servers/environments and support deployment activities.
Manage authentication and authorization across multiple systems, servers, and environments.
Design and integrate themes and interfaces; work closely with UI/UX developers to ensure accurate and responsive implementation.
Work with the Magento/Product team to troubleshoot issues and implement regular patches, enhancements, and improvements.
Conduct code reviews and maintain coding standards, quality, scalability, security, and reusability.
Perform gap analysis and data analysis to identify opportunities for system and process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and contribute to project planning, documentation, and delivery.
Stay updated with Magento, PHP, e-commerce technologies, security practices, and emerging web-development trends.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 4+ years of professional web/backend development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Magento 2.
Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks and object-oriented PHP programming.
Strong understanding of the Magento 2 framework, architecture, modules, themes, extensions, and development workflow.
Good understanding of MVC design patterns and enterprise web application architecture. Proficiency in PHP, SQL, and MySQL; strong understanding of database design and optimization.
Proficiency in JavaScript, preferably ES6+, along with HTML5 and CSS3; approximately 3 years of current hands-onexperience preferred.
Experience with Magento APIs, custom modules, extensions, integrations, and responsive web development. Understanding of accessibility standards and web/application security compliance.
Experience implementing authentication and authorization across multiple systems, servers, and environments. Proficient with code versioning tools such as Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
Experience working in an Agile environment with tools such as Jira and Confluence. Technical understanding of complex enterprise web and mobile application development, deployment, andmaintenance concepts.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify or Shopware is an added advantage.
Knowledge of Knockout JS and jQuery is a plus.Preferred Candidate ProfileA hands-on Magento professional who can independently take ownership of Magento development and productionsupport, understand business requirements, translate them into robust technical solutions, and contribute acrossdevelopment, integrations, deployments, upgrades, performance, security, and ongoing enhancement of enterprisee-commerce platforms.
