Job Purpose: -

The General Manager, Customer Acquisition IT DevOps leads Pan-India IT strategy, application development, and lifecycle management for Telecom BSS platforms. Balancing individual contribution with team leadership, this role manages direct reports and external partners to ensure operational excellence, strict SLA compliance, and robust project delivery. This leader collaborates across cross-functional domains to drive large-scale digital transformation and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities: -

Platform Ownership: Lead the development, deployment, and lifecycle management of critical Customer Acquisition platforms, focusing on point-of-sale (POS), identity management, order processing, and document management systems.
Technology Modernization: Drive costs down and quality up by introducing emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI tools, cloud-native architectures, and open-source solutions.
Agile Project Delivery: Execute complex enterprise IT projects and large-scale transformation initiatives across diverse SDLC frameworks (Agile, DevOps, Waterfall).
Release & Quality Governance: Oversee end-to-end change management, from effort estimation and code reviews to release automation and formal user acceptance (UAT) sign-offs.
Operational Excellence: Own system high-availability and uptime SLAs across a Pan-India network, tracking daily operational KPIs and performance metrics.
Problem Management: Govern incident response and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with external vendors for critical (Severity 1 & 2) system issues to ensure permanent technical resolution.
Infrastructure & Security: Lead infrastructure capacity forecasting and system scaling while ensuring rigid compliance with data privacy laws, security protocols, and regulatory mandates.

Managerial

People & Safety Leadership: Mentor and develop a team of direct reports, building high-performing technical capabilities while championing a culture of operational safety and well-being.
Vendor & Financial Governance: Manage strategic IT delivery partners, establishing governance frameworks to optimize vendor resources, mitigate risks, and manage software maintenance budgets

Technical/ Functional Competencies

Domain Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of telecom Customer Acquisition (CA) Systems and Point of Sale (POS) applications
Professional certifications in Project Management, ITIL v4, Agile, or equivalent; certifications in OSS/BSS, Cloud, or DevOps technologies are preferred.
Partner Management: Strong IT partner management skills.
Frameworks: Mastery over ITIL practices for Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Behavioural & Leadership Competencies

Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities.
Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
High accountability, execution discipline, and a strong first-time-right mindset
A Team Leader, people management and development mindset

Qualifications & Experience

B.E./B.Tech or BCA/MCA — Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

10-12 years of experience, including 5+ years managing telecom Customer Acquisition/POS applications, direct teams, and external vendors.
