Hospital Receptionist – Job Description

Job Title: Hospital Receptionist
Department: Front Office / Administration
Location: [Sat Kartar Sanjeevan Hospital]
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are looking for a polite, professional, and patient-focused Hospital Receptionist to manage the front desk and provide excellent assistance to patients, attendants, doctors, and visitors. The receptionist will handle patient registration, appointments, enquiries, calls, and basic administrative tasks while maintaining confidentiality and a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients, attendants, and visitors professionally.
Register new and existing patients and maintain accurate records.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule doctor appointments.
Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls and patient enquiries.
Guide patients to the appropriate department, doctor, or service.
Manage reception-area documentation and basic administrative work.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, laboratory, and other departments.
Handle OPD registration and appointment-related queries.
Provide information regarding hospital services, timings, and procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital policies.
Manage basic billing/payment-related coordination when required.
Handle complaints or concerns politely and escalate them to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.

Requirements

12th pass or Graduate; healthcare/front-office qualification is an advantage.
Previous experience as a hospital receptionist or front-office executive is preferred.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer knowledge and ability to use MS Office/hospital software.
Good Hindi and English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
Pleasant personality, patience, and a service-oriented approach.
Ability to work in shifts, including weekends when required.
