Job Description
Medline Industries is looking for a Manager - Network Security to lead and manage its enterprise network security function. This role is responsible for mentoring and managing a team of network security engineers and analysts, overseeing day-to-day security operations, and driving the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Medline’s global network and cloud security posture.
The role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise in network and perimeter security, and the ability to operate in a hybrid and cloud-first environment. The Manager - Network Security will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, audit, SOC, and compliance teams to ensure secure, resilient, and compliant network architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Network Security team, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management
- Oversee day-to-day network security operations including monitoring, detection, analysis, and remediation of security incidents and threats
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Manage perimeter and internal network security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, Web Security Gateways, DDOS and network segmentation
- Build and operate automated network security operations within cloud environments
- Perform security evaluations and designs for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments from a network security perspective
- Lead network vulnerability identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation activities
- Partner with Cloud, Infrastructure, and Application teams to embed security into network and platform designs
- Support incident response activities related to network-based threats and attacks
- Work with Audit & Compliance teams on HITRUST, HIPAA, and other regulatory audits as required
- Develop, maintain, and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures
- Create and maintain accurate technical, operational, and architectural documentation
- Ensure a process-driven approach to network security operations that ensures consistency, accuracy, and SLA adherence
- Handle escalated security incidents and complex operational issues
- Provide leadership coverage and operational support for a 12x7 security operations model
- Stay current with emerging network security threats, technologies, and industry best practices
Skill and Knowledge Requirements
- Proven experience managing a team of 8–10 network security engineers or analysts
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive results
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, information systems, and security controls
- In depth understanding in Technologies like Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, Illumio, Check Point, Cloudflare, Cisco Any connect and Data Dome
- Extensive experience with perimeter security technologies and firewalls such as: Cisco ASA, Check Point, Palo Alto Networks
- Experience with network security in hybrid and cloud environments (AWS, Azure and/or other public clouds)
Knowledge and hands-on experience with:
- Network segmentation and micro-segmentation
- Server firewalls and east-west traffic protection
- Strong skills in network vulnerability management, log analysis, and event correlation
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and traffic analysis
- Experience working with security frameworks and compliance standards such as: NIST SP 800-53, HIPAA / HITECH
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale network security solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive security mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive information
Desired Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, Cisco CCNA / CCNP, PCNSE, GSEC, CompTIA Security+
