Editorial Assistant (Academic Publishing)

Location: Shastri Nagar, Delhi 110052
Job Type: Full-time
Experience: 0–2 years (Candidates with prior experience working in a publishing house will be given preference during the selection process. However, Freshers with excellent communication skills are encouraged to apply)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Editorial Assistant to support our academic publishing team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent written English, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate with authors, editors, and reviewers throughout the publication process.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the editorial workflow from manuscript submission to publication.
Communicate professionally with authors, editors, reviewers, and guest editors via email.
Perform initial manuscript screening for compliance with journal guidelines.
Coordinate peer-review activities and maintain editorial records.
Check manuscripts for formatting, references, plagiarism reports, and required submission documents.
Prepare acceptance, revision, and other editorial correspondence.
Update manuscript status on the portal.
Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up with contributors.
Assist with copyediting, proofreading, and publication scheduling as required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Science, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, LaTeX and email communication.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with academic publishing or scholarly journals.
Basic understanding of plagiarism checking tools (Turnitin/iThenticate) is an advantage.
Experience with LaTeX or reference management software will be an added benefit.
