Product Architect (Healthcare SaaS | AWS | TypeScript)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Architect to lead the technical vision and architecture of a cloud-native healthcare SaaS platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will define system architecture, develop production-ready code, and collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to build secure, scalable, and high-performing applications.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing enterprise SaaS platforms, modern cloud architectures, and healthcare technology solutions while mentoring engineering teams and driving technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Define and own the overall product and system architecture.
Design scalable, secure, and cloud-native applications on AWS.
Develop production-quality code using TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
Lead architecture decisions across backend, frontend, mobile, data, and infrastructure.
Create architecture documentation, technical standards, and design decisions.
Mentor engineering teams through code reviews and technical guidance.
Design secure APIs and healthcare integrations.
Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and production reliability.
Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
Participate in production support and incident response when required.

Required Qualifications

12+ years of software engineering experience.
5+ years of Product Architect, Solution Architect, or Principal Engineer experience.
Strong experience designing enterprise SaaS products.
Expert knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, CloudFront, Cognito, IAM, Aurora PostgreSQL, and related cloud services.
Strong programming skills in TypeScript and Node.js.
Experience with React and modern web application development.
Strong PostgreSQL database design and optimization experience.
Experience building RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
Infrastructure as Code experience using AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar tools.
Experience working in HIPAA-compliant environments.
Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, or X12.
Experience building EHR/EMR or healthcare SaaS platforms.
React Native and Expo experience.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
Knowledge of modern TypeScript frameworks and serverless architectures.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development.
