About the Role
AP Mobility India Private Limited is looking for a skilled and creative Video Editor cum Videographer to join our in-house content and marketing team. This role is ideal for someone who can both shoot and edit capturing high-quality footage and then transforming it into polished, engaging content. You should have a strong sense of visual storytelling, pacing, and composition, and be comfortable working end-to-end, from planning a shoot to delivering the final edited video.
You will work closely with the digital marketing team, content strategists, and designers to plan shoots, capture footage, and bring scripts and concepts to life, producing everything from short-form Reels and ads to founder-led videos and product showcases.
Key Responsibilities
Video Shooting & Production
- Plan and execute video shoots for Reels, YouTube videos, advertisements, founder-led content, product showcases, and promotional campaigns.
- Operate cameras, gimbals/stabilizers, lighting equipment, and microphones to capture high-quality video and audio.
- Set up shot compositions, framing, and lighting for different content formats (studio shoots, outdoor shoots, product shoots, interviews).
- Coordinate shoot schedules, locations, and required equipment/props in advance.
- Capture B-roll, multiple angles, and backup takes to ensure sufficient footage for editing.
Video Editing & Post-Production
- Edit Reels, YouTube videos, advertisements, founder-led content, product showcases, and promotional campaigns across multiple brands.
- Assemble raw footage into polished, engaging final videos with strong pacing, transitions, and storytelling flow.
- Add motion graphics, text animations, subtitles/captions, sound design, and background music to enhance content quality.
- Perform color correction and color grading to maintain visual consistency across projects.
- Ensure all edits are optimized for the platform they're intended for (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc.), including correct aspect ratios, formats, and durations.
Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with the marketing and content team to understand campaign objectives and creative briefs before each shoot.
- Suggest shot ideas, transitions, effects, and storytelling techniques that elevate the final output.
- Collaborate with scriptwriters and content planners to ensure the final video matches the intended message and tone.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for content ideas, trends, shoot concepts, and formats.
Content Management & Workflow
- Organize and manage raw footage, project files, and assets in a structured manner.
- Maintain version control and ensure timely delivery of edited content as per content calendars.
- Handle multiple shoots and video projects simultaneously across different brands while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Archive and back up completed projects and raw footage systematically.
Quality Control & Trend Awareness
- Review own work and incorporate feedback quickly and effectively.
- Stay updated with the latest shooting techniques, editing trends, transitions, and formats across social media platforms.
- Ensure brand guidelines (fonts, colors, logos, intros/outros) are consistently applied across all videos.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in videography and video editing, preferably for social media or digital marketing content.
- Hands-on experience operating DSLR/mirrorless cameras, gimbals, tripods, and basic lighting/audio equipment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; knowledge of After Effects is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of shot composition, lighting, framing, pacing, and storytelling for short-form and long-form content.
- Experience with motion graphics, text animation, and basic sound design/mixing.
- Working knowledge of color correction and color grading.
- Familiarity with platform-specific formatting requirements (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple shoots and projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of current content trends, shoot styles, transitions, and editing techniques across social media.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Photoshop/Canva) for creating supporting assets.
- Experience shooting and editing content for eCommerce or founder-led/personal brands.
- Understanding of YouTube long-form production (in addition to short-form content).
- Basic scripting or storyboarding skills to assist in the pre-production process.
- Own equipment (camera/lens/gimbal) is a plus, though company equipment will also be provided.
