Job Summary

Reporting to the Controller, the Revenue Manager will lead the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant revenue recognition across Porch Group's insurance and software businesses. This role owns the monthly and quarterly revenue close, partners closely with FP&A, Sales, and Product teams to evaluate new contracts and business models under ASC 606, and drives continuous improvement of revenue processes and controls in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Revenue Manager will also play a key role in supporting external audits and SOX compliance for revenue-related processes. The ideal candidate brings strong U.S. GAAP revenue recognition expertise, a hands-on leadership style, and a track record of scaling accounting processes to support a growing organization.
What You Will Do As A Revenue Manager
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end revenue close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of revenue recognition across all business lines.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue schedules prepared by team members, providing clear coaching and feedback.
- Evaluate new and existing customer contracts and business arrangements to determine appropriate revenue treatment under ASC 606 (U.S. GAAP).
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, Legal, and Product teams to assess the accounting impact of new products, pricing structures, and contract terms.
- Own and enhance revenue accounting processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale procedures.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management reporting, including variance analysis and explanations for key revenue trends.
- Support external and internal audits by coordinating deliverables, responding to inquiries, and ensuring audit-ready documentation is complete and timely.
- Manage SOX compliance for revenue-related processes, including control design, execution, documentation, and remediation.
- Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff by setting expectations, reviewing work, and supporting career growth.
What You Will Bring As A Revenue Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant depth in revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP (ASC 606).
- Prior experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager-level accounting role, including reviewing work and guiding other team members.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements, with experience partnering with internal and external auditors.
- Systems proficiency in ERP and close-management/reporting tools; NetSuite and FloQast experience preferred.
- Proven experience working with US based business teams
- Excellent written and communication skills in English language
- Working Hours: 8 Hours (Excluding breaks)
4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm- 11:30pm IST)
4 flexible hours (IST)

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member
Pay Range: 2,625,000 - 3,675,000 INR annually
