The Department of Media & Journalism nested under the Faculty of Communication, offers specializations in Advertising & Branding, Digital Marketing & Communications, Film & Television Management and Journalism. The Faculty of Communication at FLAME University is inviting applications for the position of full-time Professor in Journalism.
While we welcome applicants from any area of Journalism, we are particularly interested in applicants with an expertise in areas such as Introduction to Journalism, Business Journalism, Business of New Media, Communication Theory, Digital Journalism, Sports Journalism, News Editing and Production, Investigative Journalism, Photo Journalism, Data Journalism, Audio Journalism, Government and Public Affairs Reporting,Communication Research, Environmental Journalism Political Economy of Media, Science, Health.
Those with a mix of experience in academia and industry will be preferred. A Ph.D. from a reputed university is required at the time of application. A minimum of thirteen years of experience in universities/colleges as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates. Fifteen research publications out of which five are in high-quality journals.
Faculty responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching, advising students, participating in faculty colloquia, and academic administration. Our expectation is that a successful applicant will:
1. Undertake independent high-quality research as well as work actively with existing members to build a strong interdisciplinary community of scholars who are committed to delivering cutting-edge research and innovation
2. Translate research findings into evidence-based practices, programs and policies
