About the Role

The India SEO team requires a dedicated technical layer for CMS management, API integration, and reporting automation. This role bridges SEO strategy and technical execution, reducing dependency on external developers and giving the team a senior, in-house technical resource for the first time.

This is the infrastructure hire that makes it possible — coordinating through our Organic Lead and supporting both the SEO team and the Content team across all client accounts.

Key Responsibilities

WordPress & CMS

Manage WordPress themes, plugins, and custom builds across multiple client accounts, including troubleshooting, updates, and security maintenance
Implement technical SEO fundamentals directly within the CMS — meta tags, canonicals, hreflang, and URL structures
Own Core Web Vitals and overall site health delivery, working proactively rather than reactively across the client portfolio
Structure content and page data to support AI Overview and AI search citation eligibility

API & Automation

Build and maintain integrations across Google Search Console, GA4, and Ahrefs APIs to centralise reporting data
Develop Looker Studio templates and data pipelines that give the team self-serve, real-time visibility into account performance
Build Python, JavaScript, and Zapier or n8n workflow automations that remove repetitive manual reporting and audit tasks from the team’s plate
Design and deploy AI agent workflows — connecting LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to internal tools for tasks such as content brief generation, audit summarisation, and rank tracking alerts
Maintain offshore utilisation and delivery reporting, giving leadership a clear view of technical workload across accounts

Technical SEO Execution

Identify and fix redirects, crawlability issues, and indexation problems across client websites
Implement JSON-LD structured data across page templates to support rich results and AI search eligibility
Improve page speed through image compression, lazy loading, and CDN configuration
Run Screaming Frog audits and lead remediation through to completion, tracking fixes against agreed timelines
Partner with Neelam and Santosh to translate technical findings into clear, actionable briefs for the wider organic search team

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, BCA, BSc, MCA, B.Tech, or a related field
2+ years of experience in a digital marketing or SEO agency environment, working hands-on with WordPress or another major CMS
Strong working knowledge of WordPress (themes, plugins, custom fields) and comfort working in at least one other CMS environment
Demonstrated experience integrating third-party APIs (Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, or similar) into reporting workflows
Working proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python or JavaScript) for automation and reporting tasks
Practical experience with no-code or low-code automation platforms such as Zapier or n8n
Solid grounding in technical SEO fundamentals — crawlability, indexation, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture
Awareness of how AI search and AI Overviews surface and cite content, and how structured data supports this
Good written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Strong ownership mindset, comfortable managing technical priorities independently across multiple concurrent client accounts

Nice to Have

Experience building or configuring AI agents (using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) for content briefing, audit summarisation, or workflow automation
Familiarity with Looker Studio, Google Apps Script, or similar tools for building self-serve reporting dashboards
Exposure to headless CMS setups, WordPress REST API, or other custom data integration projects
Understanding of GEO, AEO, and AIO principles and how structured technical foundations support visibility across AI-driven search
