Assistant Project Manager (Civil)

Department- Projects / Construction

Reports To - Project Manager

Location - Indore, Madhya Pradesh

Employment Type - Full-Time

Experience - 6–15 Years

Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
M.Tech or Project Management certification will be an added advantage.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager (Civil) to support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in high-rise building construction, contractor management, quality control, project scheduling, and cost monitoring. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities -

Project Planning & Execution

Assist in planning and execution of construction projects from excavation to handover.
Ensure project activities are completed as per approved schedules and milestones.
Monitor daily site progress and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and contractors.
Support the Project Manager in achieving project objectives related to time, cost, quality, and safety.

Site Management

Supervise site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors.
Ensure construction work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor work quality.
Resolve day-to-day execution and coordination issues.

Quality Control

Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Ensure RCC, finishing, waterproofing, and MEP works meet company and industry standards.
Minimize rework by conducting regular inspections and quality audits.
Ensure compliance with IS Codes and project specifications.

Project Monitoring

Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
Track project schedules and identify potential delays.
Maintain project documentation, site records, and progress updates.
Participate in project review meetings and present status reports.

Cost & Resource Management

Monitor project budgets and optimize resource utilization.
Verify contractor bills, work quantities, and BOQs.
Ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and manpower.
Control material wastage and improve productivity.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company HSE policies.
Promote safe work practices across the site.
Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance throughout the project.

Contractor & Vendor Management

Monitor contractor performance and productivity.
Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams for timely material supply.
Conduct progress meetings and resolve contractor-related issues.
Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

Team Leadership

Guide and mentor site engineers and supervisors.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
Foster teamwork and maintain discipline at the project site.

Required Skills Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of RCC, finishing, MEP coordination, and high-rise building construction.
Good understanding of BOQ, billing, quantity verification, and project costing.
Ability to interpret civil, structural, and MEP drawings.
Knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and execution.
Familiarity with quality standards, safety regulations, and IS Codes.
