Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager (Project Manager) to join our team in Pune, India. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of channel-focused initiatives that leverage Open Banking and Open Finance capabilities. As a key leader, you will collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure HSBC’s channels are customer-centric, secure, compliant with regulatory frameworks, and delivered on time, within scope and budget.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership
- Lead the mobilisation and delivery planning for Open Banking and Open Finance initiatives for HSBC’s digital channels, aligning with global and regional strategies.
- Drive delivery strategy and execution approach (Agile/Hybrid), ensuring outcomes enhance customer engagement and experience through innovative Open Banking capabilities.
- Provide leadership to cross-functional delivery teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, clear ownership, and alignment with organisational objectives.

Delivery Management and Execution
- Own end-to-end project delivery across the lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/control, and closure for channel solutions aligned to Open Banking and Open Finance frameworks.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, Operations, Security, and Programme Management to plan and deliver robust API integrations, data mapping/categorisation activities, and customer journey enhancements.
- Run delivery ceremonies and governance (planning, stand-ups, RAID, steering updates), remove blockers, manage dependencies, and ensure teams stay focused on agreed priorities and milestones.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure delivery adheres to local regulatory requirements, including financial and data privacy regulations, and global standards such as PSD2, PDPL and GDPR.
- Own delivery risk management: identify and manage risks/issues/dependencies (RAID), implement mitigations, and escalate appropriately to protect outcomes and timelines.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the key point of contact for delivery across Open Banking and channel-related initiatives, engaging with internal teams, regulators (as required), and external partners/vendors.
- Provide regular status updates, delivery forecasts, and recommendations to senior leadership and programme manager to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and funding.
- Partner with regional and global teams to support adoption of Open Finance principles through well-managed releases, communications, and change readiness.

Testing, Reporting, and Optimisation
- Plan and coordinate end-to-end testing and release activities (SIT/UAT, cutover, deployment readiness), ensuring quality, compliance, and operational acceptance.
- Track delivery KPIs (schedule, scope, quality, throughput, defect trends, release readiness) to assess progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver comprehensive reporting on project progress, risks, financials (where applicable), and performance to stakeholders and governance forums.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Overall 15 years in IT, with 5+ years of experience managing delivery/project management, preferably 3 years focused on Open Banking, Open Finance, or digital channels in financial services.
- Proven delivery experience, with a strong understanding of local financial regulations, digital banking trends, and market dynamics.
Technical and Regulatory Expertise
- Strong understanding of Open Banking frameworks, Open Finance principles, API-driven delivery, and integration delivery for digital channels.
- Familiarity with EMEA specific regulatory requirements, including data privacy laws, Central Banks and other regulatory guidelines, and digital banking regulations.
- Experience with delivery/project tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project (or equivalent), and Agile delivery methodologies.
Leadership and Communication Skills
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders, leading cross-functional collaboration, and managing delivery governance.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certifications such as PMP/PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, SAFe (or equivalent) will be an advantage.
- Experience delivering multi-channel solutions in banking, including customer journey improvements and large-scale API/integration programmes.
