About the Role:The team:
SRE is a global team that provides technical support across the suite of OSTTRA products. The SRE team collaborates with Delivery, infrastructure, Database, Network, Technical Operation Centre (TOC) proactive tasks to improve the supportability of our platforms. Our work helps to ensure that OSTTRA provides a high-quality service and maintains client satisfaction.
Responsibilities and impact:
OSTTRA is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer professional to join the SRE Team. The role will be specialised into the designated platforms provisioning 2nd line technical support to TOC as well as integration support for our Trade Processing applications. This person will report directly to the regional SRE manager and work closely with an experienced global team to contribute to the quality of our support.
You will have 2-5 years’ experience of roles like Site Reliability Engineer or Application Support with Project Management tasks to meet the needs of our expanding portfolio of Financial Services clients.
This role presents an excellent opportunity to be part of an agile team based out of India, collaborating with colleagues across multiple regions globally, with a strong focus on delivering value through self-service.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a core engineering partner, working closely with software developers, product managers, and security teams to build reliability into the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- AI-Driven Operations: Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools to optimize monitoring, automate incident responses, detect anomalies, and reduce operational toil.
- Infrastructure Management: Design, provision, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Performance & Reliability: Monitor system health, establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and participate in on-call rotations and blameless post-mortems.
- Capacity management & Disaster Recovery: Your duties will include Capacity Management, Operational Support Design, Audit Preparation, DR Design and Execution in our full suite of in post-trade confirmation processing.
- Database Reliability: Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of production databases, assisting with schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
What we’re looking for:
- Must-Have Qualifications (Non-Negotiables)
- Engineering & Automation: Proficiency in advanced Python coding for internal tooling and system automation, combined with deep hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi.1
- AI Integration & Observability: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI solutions into SRE workflows—such as LLM-based automation or AI-enhanced observability—alongside a strong understanding of monitoring stacks like Prometheus and Grafana.1
- Collaboration & Protocols: Excellent communication skills to drive architectural decisions across teams, complemented by technical expertise in messaging platforms and protocols including XML, XSLT, IBM MQ, and AMQ.
- Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Cloud Ecosystems: Experience with major cloud service providers like AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes cluster management.
- Database awareness: Strong understanding of database, architecture, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) & NoSQL databases.
- Operations, Engineering & Troubleshooting: Strong expertise in SRE processes—including incident management and disaster recovery—combined with the ability to navigate application architecture to drive proactive resiliency. Includes analytical troubleshooting skills, proficiency in coding (Java, Python), SQL (Oracle), and fundamental networking principles.
- Domain & Protocol Proficiency: Extensive experience within the Finance industry, complemented by deep knowledge of messaging platforms (XML, XSLT, IBM MQ, AMQ) and security protocols, specifically regarding connectivity encryption (SSL/TLS).
