Job Overview:
As a Senior Chemist, you will be responsible for leading formulation development, conducting laboratory experiments, scaling up manufacturing processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, QA/QC, production, and marketing teams to bring innovative, safe, and effective personal care products to market.

Key Responsibilities:
✔Develop and optimize formulations for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products.
✔Conduct stability studies, compatibility testing, and sensory evaluations.
✔Maintain detailed lab records and documentation for each formulation.
✔Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate raw materials and select suitable ingredients.
✔Ensure formulations meet applicable cosmetic regulations (BIS, FDA, etc.).
✔Support production scale-ups and troubleshoot formulation issues during manufacturing.
✔Stay updated with trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the cosmetic industry.
✔Mentor and guide junior chemists and lab assistants.

Hard Skills:
✔Expertise in cosmetic chemistry and formulation science.
✔Proficient in analytical testing techniques and lab equipment usage.
✔Strong understanding of emulsions, surfactants, preservatives, pH, viscosity, etc.
✔Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like BIS, FDA (India), ISO, and GMP.

Soft Skills:
✔Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
✔Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
✔Meticulous attention to detail and documentation.
✔Creative mindset with a passion for innovation.
✔Leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Education & Certifications:
✔Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field.
✔Certification in Cosmetic Formulation or Regulatory Affairs is a plus.

Preferred Experience:
✔5–8 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care product formulation.
✔Prior experience in a private label manufacturing environment preferred.
✔Experience with natural, organic, or clean beauty product development is an advantage.
