Role overview:

We are looking for a skilled Senior PLC Developer with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying PLC software for our machines on Beckhoff hardware.
You have a strong background in PLC development and commissioning, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for structured text based software.
You will play a key role in mentoring team members and contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking development environment.

Key responsibilities:

PLC Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain plc applications for our framework libraries using IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming language.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor and troubleshoot PLC related issues and bugs
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for PLC libraries, including code, configurations, and system architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams spread across the globe.
Participate in code review and unit testing of developed solutions.
Stay updated with the latest PLC development trends.
Act as a mentor for team members, providing guidance, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Mandatory Technical Attributes:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in software development/engineering for automation industry, with a minimum of 3 years focused on designing control software architecture
Strong understanding of modularization and software architecture.
Solid understanding and hands-on experience with plc related hardware as well as drives and motion technology
Familiarity with agile software development processes
Experience with version control and CI/CD tools
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Desirable:

Experience with PLC ecosystems like Beckhoff, Siemens, Rockwell
Experience with AX5000 / AX8000 servo amplifier configuration
Experience with virtualized real-time controllers
Strong programming skills in Structured Text
Basic programming skills in Python, Rust, C#
Experience with Confluence, Jira

Professional Attributes :

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Exposure to German language/culture is a plus.
Experience in working with global stakeholders and ability to work with intercultural teams.
Extensive experience collaborating in SCRUM-based Agile teams.
Flexibility to work according to German time zones.
Available for short-term international travel for meetings, training, and project activities
