General Summary:
We are looking for a candidate with strong Embedded Linux and C/C++ expertise to develop and maintain user-space applications on Linux-based Wi-Fi router/gateway platforms. The role involves building device-side solutions, integrating them with cloud services, and ensuring reliable end-to-end functionality across embedded and cloud ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain user-space applications in C/C++ for ARM-based Linux router/gateway platforms.
- Develop and maintain build configurations, package integrations, and deployment workflows.
- Implement and support device-to-cloud communication using MQTT, HTTP/REST , and related networking protocols.
- Work across embedded platforms such as OpenWRT, RDK-B , and similar middleware environments.
- Debug and resolve software, integration, packaging, networking , and end-to-end system issues spanning device and cloud components.
- Collaborate with cloud, QA, DevOps, and platform teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Mandatory Skills
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ .
- Hands-on experience in Embedded Linux/User Space Application Development .
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT, and REST APIs .
- Experience with Linux debugging tools , log analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with Git , build systems (Make/CMake), and software packaging/integration.
- Exposure to OpenWRT, RDK-B , or similar embedded Linux platforms.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Python and backend frameworks such as Django/FastAPI .
- Exposure to AWS services (S3, IoT, Lambda, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with device management, telemetry, or IoT solutions.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting mindset.
- Ability to take ownership and drive features end-to-end.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to work across device and cloud technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
