Job Description – Reporting Engineer (Power BI)

Job Title: Reporting Engineer (Power BI)
Experience: 5+ Years
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Reporting Engineer (Power BI) with 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, Snowflake, and Databricks, with a proven track record of delivering business-critical dashboards and paginated reports.

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to develop scalable reporting solutions, optimize data models, and ensure timely delivery of accurate, high-quality business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and Paginated Reports to support business reporting requirements.
Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualization solutions.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views using SQL Server (T-SQL).
Build and maintain Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reusable reporting components.
Integrate and consume data from Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, and other enterprise data sources.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through validation and testing.
Optimize report performance, SQL queries, and datasets for scalability and improved user experience.
Implement best practices for Power BI development, visualization standards, and report governance.
Support report deployment, enhancements, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.
Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to support cloud-based reporting and data modernization initiatives.
Create technical documentation, report specifications, and user guides.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of reporting standards and development practices.
Ensure compliance with organizational security, governance, and data privacy standards.

Required QualificationsEducation

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Reporting Engineer, Power BI Developer, or Business Intelligence Developer.
Proven experience delivering enterprise-level reporting and dashboard solutions.
Experience working with large datasets and business-critical reporting environments.
