The Junior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer – Power Platform will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. The role involves manual testing, defect management, test documentation, UAT support, and collaboration with developers and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality enterprise solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for QA professionals seeking to build expertise within Microsoft's low-code/no-code ecosystem
1. Manual Testing & Test Execution
- Execute test cases and test scripts for Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) and Power Automate solutions.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and UAT testing.
- Validate forms, business rules, workflows, controls, navigation, and user interfaces.
- Verify Power Automate flows for trigger accuracy, approval logic, conditions, and error handling.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and document business feedback.
- Ensure complete test coverage against business requirements.
2. Defect Logging & Quality Assurance
- Identify, log, and track defects using Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent tools.
- Classify defects based on severity and business impact.
- Perform re-testing and regression testing after fixes are implemented.
- Maintain defect logs and testing metrics.
- Escalate critical or recurring issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to quality reviews and defect trend analysis.
3. Test Documentation
- Develop test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, and test checklists.
- Maintain Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
- Document testing outcomes and prepare test summary reports.
- Update testing artifacts in SharePoint, Azure DevOps, or similar repositories.
- Ensure documentation follows QA standards and best practices.
- Support audit and compliance requirements through proper documentation.
4. Power Platform Validation
- Validate Power Apps functionality and business processes.
- Test Power Automate flows and workflows.
- Verify Microsoft Dataverse data and configurations.
- Validate integrations with SharePoint Online, Teams, and Outlook.
- Perform API validation using Postman.
- Support Power BI testing and data verification activities.
5. Collaboration & Agile Participation
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements.
- Support test environment preparation and test data setup.
- Ensure testing activities align with sprint objectives and timelines.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality concerns proactively.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA practice.
6. Learning & Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed about Microsoft Power Platform updates and enhancements.
- Learn automation testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, and Power Apps Test Studio.
- Improve QA processes, methodologies, and standards.
- Support adoption of modern testing practices.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
- Promote a quality-first culture across projects.
Required Skill Set
Experience
- 3–4 years of overall Software Testing / Quality Assurance experience.
- 1–2 years of exposure to Power Platform or Low-Code platform testing preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise application testing projects.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Prior involvement in UAT support activities.
