About the job:
The AI Solution Developer, Associate helps build, integrate, and support AI agents that act within Opella’s Manufacturing & Supply (M&S) core systems — Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Working alongside senior AI Engineers, you turn proven ideas into working agents that execute tasks — not just advise — across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality.
This is a hands-on, early-career role at the heart of the MS.AI Factory, designed for a developer who wants to grow into a full Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE). You will learn by building — shipping real components into live workflows under the guidance of experienced developers, and steadily taking on more end-to-end ownership as your skills grow.
Main Responsibilities
- Build & Support Agents: Develop, test, and maintain components of AI agents and workflows that act within MES, QMS, and ERP, under the guidance of senior developers.
- Integration Support: Help connect agents to enterprise systems (SAP, MES, QMS, LIMS) through APIs and MCP-based integrations, following established, safe, and auditable patterns.
- Hands-on Development: Write clean, tested Python code; contribute to RAG workflows, prompts, and agent logic, applying good software engineering practice.
- Testing & Quality: Support validation, human-in-the-loop checks, and documentation so agent actions are reliable, GxP-aware, and trustworthy.
- Deployment & Monitoring: Assist in deploying agents to production and monitoring their performance, flagging issues and helping resolve them.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, data teams, and business users — embedded with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality stakeholders in an FDE model.
- Continuous Learning: Grow expertise in agentic AI, GenAI frameworks, and M&S processes, progressively taking on more independent, end-to-end delivery.
About you:
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software & AI Foundations: Solid programming fundamentals in Python, with an understanding of coding standards, version control (Git), and testing.
- GenAI Exposure: Familiarity with LLMs and generative AI concepts (prompting, RAG, agents), through coursework, internships, projects, or early professional experience.
- Integration Awareness: Interest in and some exposure to APIs and connecting software to other systems; willingness to learn MES / QMS / ERP (SAP) environments.
- Data & Cloud Basics: Working knowledge of SQL and data handling; exposure to a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
- Problem Solving: Ability to break problems down, debug, and deliver working solutions with support.
- Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on development experience, including internships and personal or academic projects. Strong recent graduates with demonstrable AI projects are encouraged to apply.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
Soft & Behavioral Skills
- Challenger Mindset: Curious and proactive, eager to question how things are done and try new approaches.
- All In, Together: Collaborative team player who learns from others and contributes openly across business and technical teams.
- Outcome-Obsessed: Focused on shipping working solutions and delivering tangible value, not just prototypes.
- Courageous: Willing to take ownership of tasks, ask questions, and learn quickly from feedback and mistakes.
- Radically Simple: Strives to keep solutions clear and simple, and communicates progress and blockers openly.
