Trainee ERP Solution Consultant

Role Overview
The Trainee ERP Next Solution Consultant is an entry-level techno-functional role for candidates who want to build expertise in both business processes and ERP Next technology.
The trainee will learn how to understand client requirements, configure ERPNext modules, develop basic customizations, prepare reports and workflows, support data migration, perform testing and assist during ERPNext implementation and go-live.
This is not a purely functional consulting position. The candidate must be willing and able to work with Python, JavaScript, SQL, APIs, ERPNext configuration and the Frappe Framework.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements and Process Understanding
Participate in client discovery and requirement-gathering meetings.
Document business processes, user requirements, pain points and expected outcomes.
Assist in preparing process maps, user stories, requirement documents and meeting notes.
Learn business processes across Accounting, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, CRM, Projects,HR and Payroll.
Map basic client requirements against standard ERPNext functionality.
ERPNext Configuration
Configure ERPNext masters, transactions, users, roles and permissions.
Assist in configuring companies, taxes, naming series, approval processes and module settings.
Create custom fields, property settings, notifications, dashboards and basic workflows.
Prepare basic query reports, script reports and print formats under guidance.
Validate whether configured processes meet approved requirements.
Frappe and Technical Work
Learn ERPNext architecture and Frappe Framework concepts.
Write basic Python server scripts and JavaScript client scripts.
Understand DocTypes, document events, hooks, permissions and database relationships.
Assist in creating simple reports, scripts, APIs and customizations.
Support senior team members in troubleshooting ERPNext configuration and technical issues.
Use Git and follow the company’s coding and version-control practices.
Data Migration and Testing
Prepare data-import templates and clean client master data.
Write basic SQL queries for data extraction and validation.
Assist with data migration, reconciliation and error correction.
Prepare test cases and execute configuration, functional and regression testing.
Support UAT, defect tracking and validation of resolved issues.
Client Support and Documentation
Prepare user manuals, training material and configuration documentation.
Participate in system demonstrations and end-user training.
Provide task updates to internal teams and project managers.
Support go-live and post-go-live activities.
Maintain accurate implementation documents and project records.
Mandatory Skills
Basic Python programming knowledge.
Basic JavaScript knowledge.
Basic SQL and relational database understanding.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, JSON, HTTP and APIs.
Strong logical and analytical ability.
Good written and verbal communication.
Willingness to learn business processes and interact with clients.
Strong interest in developing both functional and technical ERPNext capabilities.
