Job Description – Accounts Assistant (CA Firm)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our Chartered Accountancy practice. The role involves assisting in day‑to‑day accounting operations, compliance management, and client servicing under the supervision of senior accountants and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting
Maintain accurate books of accounts in Tally/ERP or other accounting software.
Record journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and prepare trial balances.
Assist in preparation of financial statements.
Compliance Support
Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and other statutory filings.
Support in maintaining compliance checklists under the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and GST law.
Coordinate with clients for collection of necessary documents and data.
Audit & Reporting
Provide support in statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits.
Prepare working papers, schedules, and reconciliations for audit purposes.
Draft basic reports and summaries for review by seniors.
Client Servicing
Communicate with clients regarding routine queries and documentation requirements.
Assist in preparation of professional correspondence, letters, and compliance reminders.
Administrative Support
Maintain organized records and files (digital and physical).
Support in data entry, MIS reporting, and office documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
Knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS, and basic company law compliance.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and accounting software (Tally).
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.

Experience

Freshers or candidates with up to 2 years of accounting experience in a CA firm or corporate environment are encouraged to apply.
