Job Summary
We are looking for a curious, confident, and growth-oriented Business Development Intern to support B2B lead generation, prospect identification, first-level qualification, and demo scheduling for a workforce technology platform.
This internship is best suited for an MBA Marketing student or MBA Marketing fresher who wants practical exposure to real business development, market visits, customer conversations, consultative selling, and pipeline building.
The selected intern will be expected to identify and visit potential prospects in Guwahati and nearby business areas, find the right decision-makers, understand their basic workforce-related challenges, keep prospects warm through follow-ups, and schedule product demos or introductory meetings for the senior team.
The intern’s primary role will be to open conversations, identify genuine opportunities, keep prospects warm, and schedule demos. Product demonstrations, commercial discussions, and final closures will be handled by the business owner/founder after the opportunity is qualified.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential organizations across selected industries such as manufacturing, education, healthcare, hospitality, logistics, trading, distribution, and growing businesses.
- Visit potential prospects in Guwahati and nearby business areas to identify the right contact person and understand the organization’s basic requirements.
- Build and maintain a structured lead database with company details, industry, location, decision-maker information, contact details, workforce size, outreach status, and follow-up notes.
- Identify relevant decision-makers such as founders, owners, HR managers, operations heads, administrators, school management, hospital administrators, and business heads.
- Conduct first-level outreach through market visits, phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp where appropriate.
- Briefly introduce the platform and understand whether the organization has relevant workforce-management needs.
- Ask basic discovery questions related to attendance, leave management, employee communication, hiring, training, task visibility, employee engagement, and workforce coordination.
- Qualify prospects based on relevance, need, interest level, decision-maker access, and willingness to explore a discussion.
- Schedule product demos or introductory meetings for the senior team.
- Keep prospects warm through disciplined follow-ups and regular communication.
- Maintain daily updates and weekly reports on prospects visited, leads researched, conversations held, qualified opportunities, demos scheduled, and next steps.
Required Skills
- MBA Marketing student or MBA Marketing fresher preferred.
- Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and preferably Assamese.
- Comfortable with field visits, market outreach, and meeting new people.
- Confidence to speak with business owners, HR professionals, administrators, operations leaders, and decision-makers.
- Basic understanding of internet research, LinkedIn, email communication, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Ability to listen carefully, ask relevant questions, and document prospect responses clearly.
- Good follow-up discipline and attention to detail.
- Curiosity to understand business problems and customer needs.
- Willingness to learn about B2B sales, workforce technology, HR tech, and consultative selling.

- Familiarity with Guwahati’s local business areas and commercial ecosystem will be an advantage.

Stipend and Incentives
