About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, execution-driven SEO Associate to join Truemeds - India's fast-growing online pharmacy and tele-health platform. You'll own organic search performance for the Truemeds website and app in-house, working closely with our own marketing, content, product, and tech teams. This is primarily an SEO role - organic search (on-page, technical, off-page) will be your core, day-to-day focus - with added scope to cover how discovery is evolving: AI Overviews and answer engines (AEO/GEO), community-led search visibility (Reddit, Quora), and app store visibility (ASO), given our strong app-based user base.
This is not a strategy-only or reporting-only role - you'll be expected to roll up your sleeves, implement changes, run experiments, track outcomes, and iterate fast.
Key Responsibilities
Core SEO Execution
- Own and drive organic search rankings and quality traffic growth as the primary goal of this role - not just visibility, but traffic that converts
- Conduct keyword research, search intent mapping, and content gap analysis focused on high-intent, high-relevance queries
- Execute on-page SEO: meta tags, headers, internal linking, schema markup, content optimization
- Perform technical SEO audits - crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, canonicalization
- Manage and maintain XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, and structured data implementation
- Collaborate with content and design teams to optimize existing pages and new content for search performance
- Monitor rankings, organic traffic quality (engagement, bounce rate, conversions), and overall performance using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush/Screaming Frog
- Apply Google's E-E-A-T and YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) guidelines to health and medicine-related content, given the sensitivity and compliance needs of the healthcare/pharma category
Backlinking & Off-Page SEO
- Build and execute link-building campaigns - guest posting, HARO/journalist outreach, resource-page link building, broken-link building, digital PR
- Identify and prioritize link prospects based on domain authority, relevance, and topical fit
- Run outreach at scale (email sequences, follow-ups, relationship management with publishers/bloggers)
- Audit backlink profile regularly - disavow toxic/spammy links, track referring domain growth, benchmark against competitors
- Explore and secure link/mention opportunities via partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations
Community & Forum Visibility (Reddit, Quora)
- Build and execute a presence strategy on Reddit and Quora to drive organic visibility, brand mentions, and referral traffic
- Identify high-intent subreddits/Quora spaces relevant to the business and engage authentically (not spammy self-promotion)
- Answer relevant questions, seed discussions, and monitor brand/competitor mentions across these platforms
- Treat Reddit/Quora content as a visibility channel for both traditional SEO (these platforms rank heavily in SERPs) and AI/answer engines (LLMs frequently cite Reddit and Quora threads)
AI Adoption & Modern Search Tactics
- Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, SEO-specific AI tools) to speed up research, content briefs, topic clustering, and reporting
- Build repeatable AI-assisted workflows for content optimization, competitor analysis, and technical audits
- Stay updated on how Google's AI Overviews, SGE, and algorithm updates impact organic visibility
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) & GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
- Optimize content to appear in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and other LLM-powered search surfaces
- Structure content for extractability - clear answers, structured data, FAQ schema, concise definitions, and citation-worthy formatting
- Track brand visibility and citations within AI/answer engines, not just traditional SERPs
- Experiment with content formats (structured Q&A, comparison tables, entity-rich content) that perform well in generative search results
- Partner with content teams to build an AI-search-ready content framework across the website
ASO (App Store Optimization) - Secondary Scope
- Optimize Truemeds' app store listings (Apple App Store, Google Play) - title, keywords, description, screenshots, and ratings/reviews strategy
- Track keyword rankings and conversion rate (impressions to installs) within app stores
- Apply relevant SEO principles (keyword research, competitor analysis, iterative testing) to app store visibility
Reporting & Collaboration
- Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports covering traditional SEO KPIs, backlink growth, Reddit/Quora visibility, ASO performance, and emerging AEO/GEO visibility metrics
- Work closely with content writers, developers, product managers, and paid media teams to ensure SEO is embedded across the funnel
- Flag technical or content issues proactively and drive them to resolution
Requirements
- 1-3 years of hands-on SEO experience - this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have
- Strong working knowledge of on-page, technical, and off-page SEO fundamentals, including hands-on backlink building and outreach
- Familiarity with SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar
- Experience running or contributing to link-building/outreach campaigns
- Comfort engaging on Reddit/Quora for visibility - understands community norms and how to avoid coming across as spam
- Practical experience using AI tools to support SEO workflows (content briefs, research, audits, reporting)
- Working understanding of AEO/GEO concepts and how generative AI is changing search behavior
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how it impacts SEO implementation
- Strong bias for execution - comfortable moving from analysis to implementation quickly
- Good written communication skills for content collaboration, reporting, and outreach
Good to Have
- Prior exposure to healthcare, pharma, or e-commerce SEO, and familiarity with YMYL content guidelines
- Experience with schema markup (JSON-LD) implementation
- Exposure to CMS platforms (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, etc.)
- Basic exposure to ASO tools/practices (App Store Connect, Google Play Console, App Radar, etc.)
- Basic understanding of prompt engineering for AI-search optimization
- Prior experience tracking brand mentions/citations in AI chatbots or answer engines
